The thing I wasn’t saying much about

The Projects page has had a vague “coming up” line on it for a couple of weeks. Here’s what it was.

sekrit is an open, self-hostable event and ticketing platform for independent promoters and underground scenes. It started from a specific irritation: every platform in this space sells scarcity — invite trees, lotteries, locked lists — and then keeps the two things a promoter actually needs. The attendee list you show a venue to prove your draw. And your own money.

So the design is two rules and a feature:

• No gatekeeping. Anyone with the link can RSVP. Capacity is whatever the room holds, shown honestly.
• Never in the flow of funds. You attach your own Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, or Stripe link and the platform renders the button. Money goes from the attendee to you. There is no platform account it passes through, on purpose — that’s the line between a tool and a money transmitter.
• You own your list. CSV export, any time, of every contact you’ve collected. Not a retention hostage.

It’s built for the NorCal bass scene first, because that’s the one I’m in and the one whose door already runs on “cash or Venmo @whoever.” Generalizable after. FastAPI and Postgres, Next.js up front, and it’ll land on the same cluster as everything else here.

Pre-alpha, private repo, intended to be open source. The project page has the fuller pitch. It gets a public repo the moment there’s something to put a QR code on.
